What to start gathering now. Requirements vary by country and institution — we confirm the exact list for your application.

Undergraduate applicants (WASSCE)

  • WASSCE / SSSCE results slip and certificate
  • Secondary school transcript
  • School attendance or completion letter
  • English language test result where required
  • Valid passport (check the expiry date early)
  • Passport-style photographs to the required specification
  • Birth certificate
  • Two academic references
  • Bank statements covering the required holding period
  • Sponsor’s letter and proof of relationship, if sponsored
  • Sponsor’s proof of income or employment
  • Scholarship or funding award letter, if applicable

Note: the required amount and holding period differ by country and are set by the immigration authority. Start early — this is the most common cause of delay.

Postgraduate applicants (Degree / Transcripts)

  • Bachelor’s degree certificate
  • Full academic transcript with grading scale
  • Statement of purpose or research proposal
  • English language test result where required
  • Curriculum vitae or résumé
  • Two references — academic, professional, or one of each
  • National Service certificate, where applicable
  • Employment or professional membership letters
  • Valid passport and passport-style photographs
  • Bank statements covering the required holding period
  • Sponsor documentation, if sponsored
  • Marriage certificate and dependant documents, if travelling with family
